The projects we publish, usually take months of development within our studio, so, when we publish them, they no longer seem like the latest news to us. That being said, AQ Urban Sky has come to light and has been published in numerous publications, and now seems like the right time to talk a little bit about it. The characteristics of its program are detailed in the links we´ve attached below, and in the interest of brevity, here we will discuss the genesis of a project that we hope will represent a milestone in one of the most dynamic cities of Andalusia, Malaga.
The project stems from a study of the best possible housing and hotel development. Often residential towers are extruded with such depth that the interior rooms end up being dark and torturous in their distribution. In this case, the plan is simply the answer to the best possible configuration of the program. That exercise led us to a branched layout whose volume emerged naturally from this configuration.
The formal inspiration comes from studying the folds and cuts of a white sheet and the potential possibilities that this simple and clean mechanism can offer us … the rest, the usual, hours and hours of work to develop the idea.
