In the head of the architect, buildings and cities are born and die every day. Most of these buildings are blurred, undefined and do not get to be developed in paper. Of those who arrive, only a selected few end up becoming reality.
Benidorm offers us the opportunity to create an uncommon type of architecture, due to its size and the amplitude of the common spaces it leaves … an opportunity that we can not miss.
Innovation only makes sense, if it generates a benefit for the client and society. When we analyzed the site, we asked ourselves what our clients would value the most, and the list made it very clear, they looked for common areas, and for houses with great views of the sea. We also noticed that the most valuable homes were located in the corners, positioning the room in it… why? because that position allows a greater angle of vision. What if we were able to give that angle of vision to all the houses? What if we were able to achieve that all the houses had a view to the sea? This was the starting point of our project… everything else was pulling the thread, polishing, little by little, the geometry that the premises of the project were asking for. The name of Reef responds to the holiday and nautical nature of the proposed architecture, which is formed at the base of a set of terraces that generates a mayor element, like that bank of fish in “Finding Nemo” answers the questions of Marlin and Dory. In order to adapt to the plot and create large attics, a stepped architecture is proposed; which has a directional orientation that allows, through the twirl of the building, to give the impression of generating with the same geometry two different buildings, something very important for most of the plots to be built. We propose, every time with more conviction, a subtle set of colors that provides to the different towers their own personality.
The result is an organic project, light, original, balanced, scalable, dynamic …, that breaks with the usual tower based on vertical screens, with repetitive shapes, forming a texture that is personalized with subtlety for each tower, which facilitates prefabricated construction … and various distribution options for the masterplan, depending on the client’s priorities … but let the project speak for itself.
What if we were able to give that angle of vision to all the houses? What if we were able to achieve that all the houses had a view to the sea?
